How many days does it take for new bees to recognize their nests?

1.Behavior discussion
Recognizing the nest is the preparation behavior of bees before engaging in out-of-nest work. The aim is to remember the location and characteristics of the hive, otherwise the bees may not be able to find the hive after leaving the hive. There are two main types depending on what happens. One is that newly feathered bees need to recognize the nest before they can work outside the nest, and the other is that the bees need to rerecognize the nest when the location of the hive changes.
2.Nest recognition time
The time for new bees to recognize nests varies from situation to situation. Among them, newly feathered bees recognize nests almost every day. It is most concentrated at 13~15 PM in sunny weather. When the location of the hive changes, the bees need to re-recognize the hive, which usually happens the next morning, after which the bees begin to collect pollen, nectar and so on.
3.Locate beehive
(1)Close positioning: honeybee close positioning mainly depends on vision and smell, in fact, honeybee vision and smell are very sensitive. And can rely on vision and smell to accurately find the location of the beehive, the new worker bees' hive recognition behavior is to remember the hive characteristics.
(2) Long-distance positioning: the long-distance positioning of bees mainly depends on the polarized light of the sun. Thanks to the fact that bees have a pair of compound eyes consisting of 6000 small eyes. There are photoreceptor cells in each small eye, which can sense and navigate by the biased light of the sun.
